JAMMU, June 23: Development Committee of Upper Gurha Brahmana (Bantalab), Jammu has urged the Power Development Department (PDD) and Irrigation and Flood Control Department (I&FCD) to provide cables, kimbles and wires for the power transformer of the colony and construct a crate wall to the Nallah along the Colony, respectively.
In a meeting of the committee held here today, the residents said that the road of the colony is being damaged due to heavy rains and floods, as there is no crate wall to the Nallah. Maintaining that in the absence of crate wall, there is also threat of washing away of houses and shops situated on road side, they appealed I&FCD and PWD authorities to immediately construct a crate wall to the Nallah.
The speakers further alleged that the wires and cables of the power transformer of the area are naked and there is no fencing to the transformer. “We are demanding cables, kimbles and new wires for the transformer from the department for last five years but despite directions from the X-en concerned, the AEE, Sub-Division, Janipur, has not provided the same”, he added and appealed the PDD authorities to provide the same immediately. They also urged them to do fencing of the transformer.
