JAMMU, Aug 26: The residents are up in arms against the deplorable condition of the road in their area.
In a handout, the residents living in 11, 12 and 14 Sectors of Nanak Nagar alleged that the authorities are in deep slumber and are not paying towards the dilapidated condition of the road in their area.
“The road passing through 11, 12 and 14 Sectors is in worst condition since long and needs immediate attention”, they said, adding that the condition of road worsens more after rainfall during the ongoing monsoon season.
During rains, the water get accumulated on the road as the adjoining nallah gets overflow, they said, adding that the rainy water also enter the houses thereby damaging the properties.
The residents added that there are all apprehensions of diseases outbreak if the condition of the road prevails more, adding that they also having fear about their kids of getting washed away in flash floods, which can took place during rains.
They also said that during rains, there vehicles also suffer damages. The water, which rises to 3 to 4 foot during rains also enters the ground water tanks made by people to store drinking water and after every rains, they have to get it cleared, they stated.
They appealed to the authorities to kindly intervene into the issue and redress it on priority basis so as to provide succor to the residents.
