JAMMU, Oct 4: Reserved Categories Socio-religious Organisations & Retired Employees Forum has urged upon the State Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to personally intervene and provide the rights to the reserved categories.
In a meeting of the members of the Forum held here today, the representatives from various organizations participated. They expressed serious concern over denial of rights to the members of reserved categories specially with regard to the quota in promotions and alleged that they are not getting their full quota in all the fields.
They alleged that the reserved category members are being denied reservation in promotions and the Chief Minister being chairperson of Enforcement Board on Monitoring and Implementation of Reservation in J&K should personally intervene. They also referred to the inaction on the part of police against the alleged accused involved in disturbing peaceful rally of their community at Samba on September 24.
Some of the members alleged harassment to the reserved category employees and said that they are deliberately transferred away from their stations. They alleged that members of the upper caste were carrying campaign against them and trying to deprive of them their right provided by the constitution.
Several reserved category leaders including Sham Lal Bassan, Prof Kalidass, Mohinder Bhagat, M R Bangotra, M L Banal, Sardari Lal, Dr Kuldip Motton, H R Phonsa, P C Attri, Dr Vijay Shivgotra and Prof G L Thappa attended the meeting.
