JAMMU, Oct 4: The patients, their attendants as well as staff members of Government Super Speciality Hospital (SSH) Jammu today got some relief from the hot and humid conditions as one of the AC plants was made functional this evening.
However, during the whole day like yesterday patients were seen waving traditional hand-made fans to get relief from humidity while those who can afford purchased their own table fans to get some relief, as maintenance work of AC plants was still underway.
Though Chief Engineer, Mechanical Division, GMCH Jammu, Deepak Razdan, had claimed yesterday that they will made functional one of the three AC plants till early this morning, but that happened only late in the evening.
However, according to the reports, unlike yesterday, X-Ray, Ultrasound and City Scan machines were today made functional by the hospital authorities but Operation Theatres remain closed and no surgery conducted.
When contacted, Incharge, Medical Superintendent, SSH Jammu, Dr Manoj Chalotra said that their engineers are working day and night to accomplish the maintenance work of AC plants. “One of the AC plant is functioning now and within a day or two all the three plants will be ready to function”, he added.
He further said that all diagnostic machines like Ultrasound, X-Ray and City Scan have been made functional and from tomorrow Operation Theatres will also be made functional.
