This has reference to the much acclaimed column ‘Ex MLA’s Report Card’
Through these report cards the electorate of various constituencies, have been able to access the work done by legislators for them and they are in a position to estimate their performance and at the same time it is an eye opener for the legislators as to how far they were able to deliver the goods and will also enable them to improve their working. The report cards published so far have shown a mixed reaction that is the legislators on the whole have not been in a position to rise upto the expectations of people whereas some have been able to deliver goods to the satisfaction of electorate.
For getting these things done the law makers get huge amount of money in the shape of CDF. What the legislators have to do is to fix priorities and take Panchayat and Municipal councils into confidence and get the amount spent judiciously. So the legislators will work honestly and prove their mettle as responsible patriotic elected representatives.
