GANDERBAL, June 12: The people of Tulmulla in general and Kashmiri Pandits of the area in particular have expressed their grave concern over dilapidated condition of Ganderbal -Tulmulla and Tulmulla -Barsoo road and demanded their renovation on war footing basis.
Several delegations of the people who visited Excelsior criticized the Government for not taking up the construction of the two roads in hand in view of coming Kheer Bhawani Mela in which a large number of pilgrims will converge at holy shrine on June 20.
They said the roads are the main link to holy shrine and the authorities at the helm of affairs have not bothered to renovate them despite the repeated pleas by the local people and some Valley based Kashmiri Pandit organizations.
They said the issue was taken up with the authorities several times but to no avail and in view of coming festival of Mata Kheer Bhawani in Tulmulla where thousands of devotees converge on the occasion the authorities are not bothered to improve the basic facilities for pilgrims.
They said Government is on the one hand is making lot of publicity to holy Kheer Bhawani Mela and on the other hand there are no basic facilities while pointing towards the two main roads in the area linking the shrine to Srinagar and other parts.
Meanwhile, the chairman Peoples Revolutionary Forum (PRF), Mir Ghulam Rasool took up the issue with the DC Ganderbal and Executive Engineer of R&B and urged them to take immediate steps for renovation of the road.
Mir also demanded that proper check may be maintained on market especially during the yatra period.
