SAMBA, Feb 27 : In order to regulate the sale of acid / corrosive substances in the district , Deputy Commissioner Samba Sheetal Nanda today convened a meeting of senior officers to discuss the strategy for proper implementation of the directions of the Supreme Court in this regard and also reviewed the status of work done on this aspect earlier.
The meeting was attended by the ACR Sonu Pargal, Addl SP Faizal Quershi, SDM Samba Rajneesh Gupta and SDM Ghagwal Charanjeet Singh, CEO Samba Mangal Dev Singh, Associate Prof. GDC Samba V.R Pathania besides Asst. Controller Drug and Asst. Controller Legal Metrology, Samba.
DDC exhorted upon the officers for proper implementation of J&K Poison (Possession and Sale Rules, 2014). Emphasizing the role of SDMs in the matter, she directed them to get a comprehensive list of all such shops who sell and stock acid and to ensure that they submit returns after every fortnight.
She further impressed upon the heads of the educational institutes and hospitals for the proper implementation of the rules and also to submit register copies to SDMs every month.
She Similarly instructions were also given to the Police Department, Legal Metrology and Drug Control Organization for regular market checks to ensure no violation of the rules take place.
