LEH, Feb 27: In wake up of recent brutal rape and murder case of 16 year old girl, Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Leh Rigzin Spalbar today convened a meeting of Deputy Commissioner, Leh Saugat Biswas and SSP, Leh Dr. Sunil Gupta to discuss the future plan of district administration and Police Department in particular to stop such crime in the district.
Giving reference of various women and individual representations to him in the cruel murder case of Afsana Parveen, CEC directed SSP to formulate a comprehensive plan before the opening of the Srinagar -Leh and Manali-Leh roads as it will be an impossible task for police to keep a watch on every individual without a concrete plan and asked him to use the present time for devising a inclusive plan.
To spread awareness among general public for mandatory registration of outsiders including labours, CEC advised SSP to use AIR which is the best medium to reach every nook and corner of Ladakh.
SSP assured CEC that Police Department will leave no stone unturned to bring back confidence among the public of Ladakh especially among the female population and said that speedy trial is going on against the culprits.
He also apprised CEC about the Ladies Hipline Centre being established in Leh under the ‘Operation Julley’ initiative which will work 24 hours.
