Ravinder urges Govt to ensure ration supply in remote villages

JAMMU, Apr 1: Former MLC and chief spokesperson of JK Congress, Ravinder Sharma has urged the Government to ensure the supply of essential commodities especially in rural areas and remote villages during the lockdown.
Sharma also took up the issue of labourers from different areas of Jammu especially from Sunderbani and its adjoining areas those who have been facing hardships at Sabzi Mandi, Chandigarh due to the lockdown. They are stranded there and were facing great hardships. Sharma informed the Government of Punjab and higher authorities in the JK administration to take care of over 100 labourers there.
Sharma said he was apprised by the Sarpanchs and Panchs and others from certain rural areas especially far flung villages about shortage of certain essential commodities. He further said so far no ration has been distributed among the people in rural areas except Mid Day Meals ration to the children.
He said that the people were eagerly waiting for the implementation of various pro people, pro poor measures announced by the Centre and UT administration and demanded distribution of free ration among the poor, pension to old age, widow and physically challenged people.
