JAMMU, Aug 23: To take a review and finalize the programme of Raksha Bandhan insurance campaign initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to promote social security of women a meeting was held at BJP Headquarters in Union Capital under the chairmanship of Ram Lal Party’s national general secretary.
The meeting was attended by the national team constituted for the purpose who included Union HRD Minister Simriti Irani, Union Minister of State in PMO with independent charge of NE States, Dr Jitendra Singh, National general secretary BJP, Dr Anil Jain, national president BJP Mahila Morcha, Vijay Rahatkar. Besides, the prabharis and representatives from all the States and UTs who will act as Prabahris of Raksha Bandhan Abiyan attended the meeting.
On behalf of J&K Munish Sharma general secretary and party’s Prabhari attended the meeting.
Addressing the meting, Ram Lal said that this campaign will ensure social security to women. The social security insurance scheme as initiated by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi can even reach to the large sections of the women population of the country and every women tying a Rakhi will get a gift of an insurance cover, he added.
From the point of view of the organization, he said this will also serve as means of mass contact with the people and supporters of BJP.
In the meeting it was decided that all the State representatives will give a report of the progress made so far and then plan for the next few weeks.
Union HRD Minister Simriti Irani gave a resume of the campaign started by her in Rahul Gandhi’s Constituency Amethi where she had already arranged for insurance of 25,000 women in first phase. She said this was an opportunity for the women of the country particularly of Amethi and Rae Bareily to realize the benefit and priority given to them by BJP leadership.
Union MoS in PMO Dr Jitendra Singh said this campaign will not only ensure economic empowerment of a women but also her social and wholesome empowerment thus giving her a sense of self esteem in her role in nation building. He also announced that he will arrange for the insurance from his personnel fund in the first phase on August 27 for the teachers and students of Ek Vidyalaya.
Dr Jitendra Singh said this unique initiative under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not only a reiteration of Government’s commitment to upliftment of the women but also symbolizes sanctity of the occasion of Raksha Bandhan which is deeply connected with women folk.
Dr Anil Jain in his address gave a lead of banks in the states who will be coordinating the successful accomplishment of the campaign. List of lead banks and officers has been communicated to all the State Headquarters of BJP, he added.
He said the party expects the target registration of at least 11,000 insurance at each assembly segments of the country.
