This has reference to the statement of the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in which he has reiterated the demand for rail coach factory in the State to overcome the economic stress and unemployment problem.
The railway network in this State is expanding rapidly over the last some years. Notable is the Qazigund-Baramullah rail line. To meet the needs of the Railways, in northern part of the country it would be quite useful if a rail coach factory is opened here.
The factory would, one expects,change the complexion of economic scenario of the State as it would provide jobs to a large number of people. At the same time, it will help the industrial sector expand more than as it is present.
The demand for setting up of a coach factory was raised earlier also by the people of this State, but it was not considered by the concerned quarters. Now the demand has been once again raised by the Chief Minister of the State, therefore, there should be no hitches in accepting this demand at the earliest.
