Raids carried out in missing revenue record cases in Jammu

JAMMU, Feb 20: A joint team of revenue officials from divisional administration assisted by police on Sunday raided multiple locations in missing revenue record cases in various parts of Jammu district, here on Sunday.
Official sources said that they were acting on several complaints lodged with the Government in the recent past regarding encroachment of the state land and land grabbing by some miscreants allegedly hand in glove with revenue officials.
“The teams carried out raids in Jammu West, North, Jammu South and in the outskirts,” they said.
“The residences of some retired revenue officials, who were allegedly involved in tampering and misplacing the land record to benefit the land grabbers, were also raided by the teams,” sources added.
The teams were constituted by the Jammu Divisional Administration, sources said.
They maintained that many patwaris, girdawars and tehsildars are on radar and may face action in missing of land record case. (UNI)
