JAMMU, Apr 9: AICC (I) vice president Rahul Gandhi would address an election rally at Sports Stadium, Doda on April 11 in favour of Congress candidate for Udhampur-Doda constituency, Ghulam Nabi Azad, the Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare.
Rahul would fly to Doda and address the rally at 11 am before flying back to New Delhi.
Sources said Chief Minister Omar Abdullah could also join Rahul’s rally along with Azad.
Earlier, Rahul was scheduled to address an election rally in support of Azad at Udhampur on April 6 but it was cancelled due to prediction of adverse weather conditions on that day.
This would be first election rally by any star campaigner of Congress in Jammu and Kashmir during the Lok Sabha elections.
BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi had addressed a massive election rally at Hiranagar on March 26. Another BJP leader Vinod Khanna had yesterday addressed an election rally at Kathua.
