JAMMU, Aug 27: A delegation led by Rahul Sahai , Chairman, Transport Nagar Association {TNA} here, today submitted a memorandum to Babila Rakwal ,VC JDA for development drive in Transport Nagar
Sahai informed VC JDA about works done last year by earlier VC JDA in which 800 meter main road was made but small patch of tile work is still pending and he listed all the issues of Transport Nagar in the memorandum like roads black topping of entire Transport Nagar, regular paid sanitation services , lighting , handing over Transport Nagar to other departments like PWD for maintaining roads, JMC for sanitation and drainage, cleaning of drainage system , cleaning and repair of Nallah’s , encroachment drive , making of Shulabh Shauchalya’s, repair and beautification of dividers and its maintenance and plantation, conversion of lease hold to free hold rights, lease deed issues , building bye laws at par with JMC, double fee issues, transfer policy, JDA Departmental processing issues, parking concerns at Transport Nagar and time bound transfer of property .
VC JDA Babila Rakwal after deliberations informed delegation that JDA is having shortage of funds to do all the works in one go and she suggested to pick up four issues which included completion of pending tile works in 800 meter main road , sanitation , lighting , highmass lights , cleaning of existing drainage system and nallah’s and encroachment drive .
Rakwal said that she will talk to Commissioner JMC regarding sanitation and get it started but shopkeepers have to pay charges honestly otherwise they will be penalized. She added as a pilot project sanitization will be started in yard 6 and after that will include other yards , regarding encroachment drive Rakwal assured TNA that strict action would be taken soon regarding encroachers with heavy penalties. She also appealed to vacate JDA dividers and roads to avoid action. She assured early actions on lighting and cleaning of drains and nallahs.
Rakwal said regarding handing over Transport Nagar to PWD , JMC and conversion of lease hold right proposals are lying with higher ups and they will decide on it shortly .
