R K Grinding is not a polluting unit: Katyal

KATHUA, Oct 21: R K Grinding (Jammu) Pvt Ltd today said that it’s cement manufacturing unit was established in 1994 in the notified industrial area and while criticising some vested elements, who tired to mislead people against the industry said it has all valid clearances from Government.
The handout issued by the promoter of the Industry, A K Katyal said the technology adopted for manufacturing of clinker is a state of art. It is backward integration to the cement grinding unit. The working of the technology is based on closed circuit principal and with the help of this technology, there will be no dust generation in air and in addition to same, there are multiple stages equipments to mitigate the pollution completely, he added.
He said “we are open to explain and if anyone has any doubt about working of the unity”. Maintaining that industry is backbone of society and State as well as Central Government are encouraging the establishment of industry for commercial upgradation of surrounding area by providing job opportunity to the local people.
He said purely few elements are instigating local people that they have apprehensions about pollution, thereby causing harm to the entire society. “We have time and again assured the society and also assure them again that we are part and parcel of society and we are not to harm the people”,. Further we undertake that we will not run the unit in case we fail to maintain pollution norms”, he added.
He said police has registered an FIR vice No 273/2019 dated 30/8/2019 with IPC Act 147, 341, 153 against one Rajesh Mehta and others as they were instigating the people to throw stones on vehicles which were on National Highway.
A K Katyal while clarifying the report said that some vested interests tried to mislead the public that the industry is a polluting unit which is not based on facts.
