Quality, job oriented education priority of Govt: Shabir

RAJOURI, Sept 16: Minister of State for, Power, Forest, CA&PD and Transport, Shabir Ahmed Khan has reiterated that providing quality and job oriented education to children of border and hilly areas is on top agenda of the Government, adding that a number of new educational institutions have been opened in the State while as, hundreds existing schools have been upgraded for providing higher education to the students especially belonging to remotest and border areas at their door steps.
Addressing various public meetings at border villages Saroola and Dhar after throwing open new classes of recently upgraded High Schools in these villages, the Minister called upon the students for more hard work and paying special attention towards their education, as this sector is the only vital tool for social- economic transformation. He said up gradation of these schools was the long pending demand of the people of these villages which has been fulfilled by the Government, adding that expansion of vocational education in border areas also receives focused attention of the Government for providing easy jobs to the youth of these areas .
The Minister said that basic amenities are also being improved in border villages. He said construction of a number of roads and bridges are apace in the area under Center and State flag ship programmes. He said that construction work on Water Supply Scheme would be taken up soon, adding that for the purpose LIC has sanctioned Rs 74. 00 lakh loan assistance.
The Minister also called upon the Panchs and Sarpanchs to highlight the people’s problems and developmental needs before the administration for immediate redressal. He appealed the people to continue their whole hearted cooperation to the Government for making J&K a prosperous State.
