Punjabi novel ‘Paap Di Pand’ released

JAMMU, Aug 10: A Punjabi novel ‘Paap Di Pand’ written by well known Punjabi novelist of J&K, Bhupinder Singh Raina was released here today during seminar on the life & contribution of Bhupinder Singh Raina at Punjabi Department of University of Jammu (JU).
Prof Sucheta Pathania, Dean, Faculty of English Department at JU was chief guest whereas S.S Bijral, former IGP was guest of honour and well known senior Punjabi writer, Devinder Singh was the special guest on this occasion.
Dr. Baljit Kour, HoD Punjabi Department, JU shared the dais. The programme was attended by many well known writers of different languages, intellectuals, research scholars and the post graduate students of Punjabi Department of JU.
Dr. Baljit Kour gave welcome address and threw light on the life and contribution of Bhupinder Singh Raina.
Two papers were readout by Balwinder Kour and Ranvir Singh (research scholars).
The chief guest appreciated the concerns of the issues of women that have been touched by the writer in his novel ‘Paap Di Pand’.
S.S Bijral, Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary JKAACL, Bhupinder Singh Raina’s daughter Rupindra Raj and others also spoke on this occasion.
Dr. Pritam Singh conducted the proceedings of the programme and Dr. Harjinder Singh extended the vote of thanks.
