PSC Lecturers’ Association urges LG to extend benefits of ACP

JAMMU, June 24: Central Working Committee Jammu of All J&K Plus 2 PSC Lecturers Association today organized a virtual meet and discussed all the issues concerning the cadre.
The meet strongly raised the long pending demand of Assured Career Progression (ACP) and urged Lt Governor to fulfill the demand as committed to the Association earlier. The CWC members said that +2 lecturers are denied of financial growth which is a sort of exploitation causing to demotivation and mental stress that needs to be addressed on priority basis.
The CWC members also expressed serious concern over the issue of vacant posts of Principals which have not been filled since long. They said hundred of schools are without heads and it hinders the smooth functioning of these schools. They said that there is nothing wrong if most senior lecturers are asked to look after the administrative affairs of the schools.
The CWC members unanimously resolved to pursue all the genuine issues including Assured Career Progression (ACP), promotion of about 300 Sr Lects to Principal, implementation of Education Administrative Service (EAS) and placement of lecturers as Senior Lecturer out of 1/3 quota. The members appealed Principal Secretary B K Singh to re-examine some of the genuine cases transferred under ATD and modify accordingly.
Manjeet Chib, the convener CWC Jammu appealed direct recruited lecturers to put every possible effort to facilitate the learners and compensate their academic loss. He said that the idea of community classes should be materialized because students hailing from remote areas are not in a position to avail benefits from online classes. He said that +2 lecturers are mentally prepared if schools are opened. Students are our priority and teaching is our passion, he further added.
