SRINAGAR, Apr 22: Peoples Republican Party (PRP) in a meeting here today has urged the Government to define the New Recruitment policy as people especially unemployed youth have many apprehensions about it.
The meeting was chaired by PRP chief G M Tramboo advocate and among others it was attended by its chief spokesperson Mir Ghulam Rasool, Ghulam Ahmed Hamdard, Bashir Ahmed Malik, Ghulam Ahmed War and Mohammed Maqbool Sheikh.
The meeting said that Government should ensure that the new recruitment policy should not harm the interests of unemployed youth and result into their exploitation nor should it deprive the reserved categories of the reservation benefits as has been apprehended.
The meeting said the youth is already in distress in the State and one of the reasons for taking to arms by the majority of the youth was that they were exploited by vested interests as they had no source of income.
The meeting urged the Government not to repeat any such mistake which can result in youth unrest in the State.
The meeting however reiterated its full cooperation and support to coalition and its pro-people policies in restoration of total peace and normalcy in the State and for the overall development of all its three regions.
Mir also expressed concern over the damage caused to the houses in Kondbal area of Ganderbal district due to recent heavy rains and caving in of land.
He said many houses in the area have developed cracks during last one week and there is total panic in the area while the authorities have not bothered to assess the situation there and provide relief to the people.
