Protests against delay in civic body election continue

JAMMU, July 7: Continuing the protests against delaying the holding of elections of Local Bodies by the NC-Congress Coalition Government series of protests were held at various wards of the Jammu city today.
Activists of W.No. 15 held protest at City Chowk which was led by its convenor Ram Niwas Aggarwal and addressed by Sports Cell State convenor, Pardeep Sharma. He exhorted activists to publicize among the local people the need for having elections to the Local Bodies which would furnish a channel of seeking redressal of their grievances.
The activists of W.No. 18 held the protest at New Plot, Jammu. This protest was led by Ward Convener Narinder Gupta and was addressed by District. vice president and ex-Corporator, Dinesh Gupta. Dinesh Gupta said that having a local elected representative is very essential for enabling the people to approach various institution of the Government meant for their welfare and well being.
Activists of W.No.45 held the protest at Digiana which was led by W.No. Convenor Ashok Kumar. The protestors were addressed by Satwari Mandal President Sat Pal Choudhary who criticized the ruling NC-Congress coalition for its lack of commitment to the democratic norms and temper.
Prominent among those who took part in these protest included Praduman Singh, Kuldeep Kandhari, Vinay Gupta, Baldev Singh Baloria, Vikram Randhawa, Balwan Singh, Raj Rani Jamwal, Vijay Sharma, Rudhramani, Sangeeta Gupta, Nirmal Gupta, Balraj Gupta, Harjang Singh, Ajay Gupta, Sunita Arora, Ragni Vaid, Harish Gupta, Onkar Singh, Rajinder Gupta, Capt. Arvind, Ajeet Singh, Maggar Singh, Raghuvinder Singh, S. Bupinder Singh, Ch. Babu Ram, Ajay Jandial and others.
