JAMMU, Feb 11: Locals residents of Peer-Kho protested over dilapidated condition of road under the leadership of District Congress general secretary, Gurmeet Singh and president Ward 3, Hardavinder Singh, here today.
The protest was part of the Congress’s initiative to reach the locals of Jammu at grassroots level and take stock of troubles being faced by them.
It was observed that the said road leading to Peer- Kho Mandir was in a dilapidated condition for the last 10 months and the children as well as elders were facing a lot of problem while passing through but the department concerned especially JMC seems least bothered about it.
“Only few days were left for the Shivratri festival and it is very important festival for the devotees as thousands of people have to visit the temple for prayer but Government is not taking any initiative for repairing or blacktopping of the road,” they alleged.
They requested the LG administration to blacktop the road before the commencement of Shivratri festival.
