JAMMU, Feb 11: Nowabad and Canal Road Police jointly arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 40 grams heroin from their possession.
As per police sources, on specific information teams from Police Station Nowabad led by SHO Inspector Rajesh Khajuria and assisted by Incharge Police Post Canal Road PSI Ishfaq Ahmed Kasana laid a naka under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Swati Sharma and intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK02BV-0101 near Bhagwati Nagar.
During checking, police team recovered 40 grams heroin from the possession of two persons travelling in the vehicle and arrested them.
The arrested persons were identified as Wasim Qureshi, son of late Nasir Ahmed of Mendhar and District Poonch and Shabir Ahmed, son of Ghulam Rasool of District Shopian.
A case under FIR Number 18/22 under Section 8/21/22/25/29 NDPS has been registered at Police Station Nowabad and investigation started.
