Prof Veena Gupta conferred prestigious Sohard Award

JAMMU, Aug 3: Prof Veena Gupta, an eminent Dogri writer and linguistic has been conferred upon Uttar Pradesh Hindi Sansthan’s prestigious Sohard Award -2021. The award carries cash prize of rupees two lacs fifty thousand in addition to memento and citation.
Prof Veena Gupta has been serving mother tongue Dogri for the last so many years and has numerous books to her credit that include Hindi- Dogri Conversation Guide, Dogri Vakya-Vinyas, Dogri Bhasha: Udbhav Aur Vikas, Dogri Vyakaran, Dogri Kavita: Pramukh Rujhan, Guidelines for teachers to teach Dogri script and pronunciation, Sarhe Sahityakar (our litterateurs), Ashwini Magotra:life and works, Ram Nath Shastri: life and works , Chhe Roopak (six radio features), Anuvad Vigyan as co- author and has also edited more than 30 books.
In addition to original works she has also contributed to Dogri literature with class translations. About 100 papers/ articles written by her have been published in reputed journals and magazines.
She has served as Head of the Department, PGD of Dogri , Convener Board of Studies in Dogri, Dean Faculty of Oriental Learning, Member, College Development Council University of Jammu, Expert in Subject Dogri in UGC and UPSC Convener Dogri Advisory Board.
