JAMMU, Sept 6: Prof Shohab Inayat Malik, HoD Urdu, University of Jammu, has been appointed as new Dean Faculty of Arts, JU, in place of Prof B Labh, Department of Buddhist Studies, JU, who has been appointed Vice-Chancellor of Nava Nalanda Mahavihara, University Bihar.
Prof Shohab Inayat Malik is a prolific Urdu writer who has authored two dozen books in Urdu Language. Considered an able administrator and good organizer, Prof Shohab has served two times as Head, Department of Urdu, JU and still heading the same Department. He has served, Director, Kishtwar Campus also. He is member of Board of Studies of various Universities of the Country. He is also member of “General Council of Academy of Art, Culture and Languages of Jammu and Kashmir”, “General Council Member of National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language, Ministry of HRD, and Government of India”.
