Produce records regarding appointment of BOSE Chairman: HC

Srinagar, Nov 19: High Court today directed the Government to produce records before the court regarding the appointment of Chairman of Board of School Education (BOSE).
Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey directed the authorities to come with clear stand and records pertaining to the appointment of Nutan Kumar Restura as Chairman of BOSE who is facing departmental enquiry on account of embezzlement and misappropriation of funds.
Court had earlier directed for production of relevant records pertaining to the case which they failed to do so. The court before taking a final view in the matter directed production of records by next date which is November 24.
“It shall be appropriate and in the interest of justice to grant one more opportunity to respondents to come with the clear stand and records. In case respondents fail to submit the reply and records on the next date of hearing, Secretary to Government School Education Department shall appear in person. He shall also bring the records along with”, directed the bench.
Petitioner, Principal Amar Singh College, Srinagar, questions the appointment of Restura as Chairman BOSE on the ground that he has been ignored while considering his case for appointment on strength of recommendation of the Search Committee as he figures at serial No.1 besides he (chairman) is facing department enquiry.
