Procure more products for uplifting economy of farmers: CEC to Army

LEH, Dec 18: Chief Executive Councilor (CEC) LAHDC Rigzin Spalbar met Vice Chief of Army Lieutenant General SK Singh and discussed the issues pertaining with Army and civil relationship in the district at Army Core Headquarter. Chief of Army staff 14 Core Major General Sanjay Kulkarni, GOC Lieutenant General Rakesh Sharma were also present.
During the interaction, CEC said that LAHDC has proposed to open new tourist destinations in Leh district for which he sought Army support in opening new tourist destination especially in border areas of Ladakh.
He also requested the Army authority to procure more and more products of local farmers like vegetables, fruits for uplifting the livelihood and economy of farmers.
Meanwhile, CEC, LAHDC Rigzin Spalbar convened meeting of HIMANK, LBA, LGA and allied engineering sectors at Council Secretariat to resolve the issue concerned with religious organizations for construction of four line road project sanctioned under HIMANK from petrol pump to ITBP gate Choglamsar.
The meeting was attended by Chief Engineer, Project HIMANK Brigadier BS Sandhu, Commandant 16 BRTF Suneel Verma, president LBA, Dr Tondup Tsewang, president, LGA Gesha Konchok Namgial, ADC, Leh Tsering Murup and executive engineers of different wings.
CEC directed HIMANK to start earth work on the road and also directed XEn PDD and PHE to have close coordination with HIMANK in laying of electrical lines and PHE water pipelines underground.
President LBA and LGA gave their consent for relocation of Mani Wall at Tyare-Rong for road purpose.
Later, CEC along with Chief Engineer, Project HIMANK, Commandant 16 BRTF, President LBA and LGA and engineers made on spot inspection of the road and also inspected the ongoing construction work of bridge over Saboo Nallah at Choglsmsar.
