‘Delaying selection process not fault of aspirants’

JAMMU, Feb 15: Senior BJP leader and former Minister, Priya Sethi strongly opposed the decision of J&K Government for annulling all posts including gazetted and non-gazetted referred to JKPSC/JKSSB prior to October 31, 2019, for which selections to several posts have not been finalized till date.
In this regard, a delegation of aspirants for the posts of Assistant Professors, Tourism & Travel in Higher Education today met Priya Sethi and sought rescinding of recent Government order directing for annulling all recruitment process prior to October 31, 2019.
While interacting with the former Minister, the delegation apprised her that the selection process for the posts of Assistant Professors, Tourism and Travel in Higher Education Department notified vide Circular No. 12-PSC (DR-P) of 2014 dated 29-05- 2014 and Notification No. 10-PSC (DR) 21 2017 dated 27-10-2017 against which the selection interviews were held during December 29-31, 2021 which was notified by JKPSC vide Notice 08 dated 08-12-2021 has been completed and they were awaiting the release of final list but the Government order has dashed their hopes and therefore they sought her intervention.
The delegation apprised the senior BJP leader that JKPSC advertised five vacancies of Assistant Professor (Travel and Tourism) vide its notification to 12-PSC (DR-P) 2014 dated 29,-2014. “This was the first time ever that positions in the discipline of Travel & Tourism were notified. After a period of three years, the then JK PSC forwarded a letter to Department of Higher Education, Government of Jammu  and Kashmir seeking the details regarding the equivalence of degree of applicants. In this regard, a letter was sent to University of Jammu on 3-1-2017 for clarification”, they informed Priya, adding that after so many hiccups finally the selection process was completed and they were expecting the release of final list which was prepared prior to the GAD order annulling all recruitments initiated prior to October 31, 2019.
They informed the BJP leader that they have already submitted a representation before LG, Manoj Sinha for considering their case.
After listening to the plight of the delegation, Priya assured that she will project their case before LG asking him to deliver justice. She was convinced that the case of these aspirants is genuine and needs to be given special focus as the delay in selection process was not their fault.
