UDHAMPUR, Dec 18: A one day convention of private schools of Pahari belt viz. Billawar, Bhaddu, Bani, Basohli, Manpur, Malhar, Parnala of district Kathua was organized to discuss the hardships being faced by the private schools.
The meeting was held under the presidium of Rameshwar Mengi, vice president; Ajay Gupta, general secretary; Sanjeev Luthra and Ajay Singh, member central body of J & K PSA and Satpal Mansotra, district president.
The Members present in the meeting highlighted number of problems which included alleged harassment to the schools functioning in the far flung areas in obtaining NOCs for recognition / affiliation purposes. Inhumane treatment by CPF Department which has issued recovery notices and also served arrest warrants of the Principals of low budget schools having monthly revenue not more than Rs.50,000 to 70,000.
“The Government has restrained the schools to increase its fee and on the other hand it has tied up with other Government departments to fleece low budget private schools of their meager revenue to obtain NOCs by paying hefty fee,” they said and added that this ill treatment by the different agencies of the Government towards the low budget private schools may break the backbone and the only option left with them is nothing but shutting down their schools.
Members present in the meeting vehemently criticized the high headedness of the authorities towards the low budget self sustaining private initiatives who have stood on their own and have never expected and have never got any type of financial or other support from any quarter . The demanded a lenient view towards the low budget private schools, which are rendering yeomen service in the far flung areas.
Presidium appealed the Government to adopt a single window online clearance system while issuing NOC documents to mitigate the teething problems of schools functioning in far flung area. Ajay Gupta appealed the gathering to strictly adhere to the Government laws as “ignorance of law has no excuse” while running an educational institution.

Ashok Sharma, Subash Kerni, Oma Dutt Manhas, Gansara Singh, Shanti Bhushan, Ankur Arora, Milkhi Ram, Naresh Kumar, Anjana Sharma, Brijnandan Jamwal, Siddheshwar Sadotra, Ram Parkash, Ashwani Sharma , Shashi Kumar and others.
