KARGIL, May 28: Prime objective of Traffic Police Ladakh will be to ease the traffic movement taking into consideration the peak time of tourism as Ladakh is one of the top tourist destinations in India.
This was stated by SP Traffic Ladakh Mohammad Rafi Giri during an interactive session with different stakeholders of traffic at Language Center, Thatha Khani Changrah Kargil.
On the occasion, ARTO Kargil Khaddim Hussain, DTI Kargil Nissar Ali, President Taxi Union Kargil, Truck Union, Bus and Mini Bus Union were also present.
Urging upon the leaders of different Transport Unions to cooperate with Traffic Police Ladakh, SP Traffic said that the whole process of a smooth traffic system is only possible by the joint efforts of all the stakeholders.
He said that the Department will focus on development of parking spaces in Kargil and Leh towns as it is the top most priorities of the society to avoid traffic jams and congestions.
Talking about the issues of all the Unions raised by President Taxi Union Kargil Shamim Mayur, SP said that he will help in solving these issues rates, jurisdictions, permits etc with UT Administration and IGP Ladakh.
DTI Kargil Inspector Nissar Ali administered Traffic Pledge to follow the traffic rules and regulations.
ARTO Kargil Khadim Hussain assured the Unions to start some orientation workshops for the drivers and cleaners of Kargil district in collaboration with all the stakeholders.
