PPC pledges to strengthen drive against drug abuse

JAMMU, July 23: Pharma Panthers Club (PPC) organised a pledge ceremony where all members of the club took pledge not to purchase, stock and sell any habit forming drug or formulations manufactured or marketed by generic companies.
On the occasion, table displays “PLEDGE” were distributed by the chief guest Satish Gupta, Controller, Drug and Food, guest of honour Lotika Khajuria, Deputy Drug Controller and YV Sharma, president, Chamber of Commerce and Industry among the members of the PPC to display it in their business premises.
While welcoming the guests, Mahesh Gupta, Chairman of the club, informed that Pharma community has collectively taken a pledge to sacrifice their part of the business and earning for the future of the young generation as it has been observed that the psychotropic drugs of genetic range are mainly misused by the addicts.
On the occasion, newly elected team of Chamber of Commerce and Industry YV Sharma, President, Sham Langer, senior vice president, Anil Gupta, vice president, Arun Gupta, general secretary, Deepak Aggarwal, secretary and Bharat Bhushan, treasurer were presented mementos and bouquets.
Satish Gupta while speaking appreciated the step taken by PPC to free the society from drug addiction.
YV Sharma pronounced this pledge as a great sacrifice by the Pharma traders who laid down their profit to benefit the society in general.
Lotika Khajuria spoke very high about the activities of the club and hoped that club would continue to play its positive role in containing the menace of drug addiction.
The entire programme was anchored by Laxman Sharma, general secretary and was assisted by Davinder Kakkar, Manoj Gupta, Ravi Kant Kohli, Ajay Abrol and Tirath Singh, whereas Arun Pandita, presented vote of thanks.
