Postpone INICET exam for one month: NSUI

JAMMU, June 3: After the successful campaign to cancel the 12th Board examinations, NSUI is now demanding to postpone June 16 INICET exam.
After the Central Government issued a notice dated May 27 and declared the date of exams to be June 16, NSUI reminded them of their commitment to conduct the INICET exams only with a prior notice of one month.
NSUI National president Neeraj Kundan wrote to the AIIMS director condemning this step. The letter said, “Thousands of medical aspirants have approached me and have sought my help in taking forward their grievances regarding the PG/INICET exam schedule in June 16, 2021. Since the PG/INICET is a much sought-after entrance exam that decides the fate of over 80000 medical aspirants in the country, it is paramount that we look into their grievance most objectively and provide them with an amicable solution.”
The two major demands as per the letter are to ‘immediately postpone the examinations’ and ‘giving at least one month prior notice before declaring the dates of the exam.
NSUI National president expressed his concern and said, “The doctors believed the Government’s promise and came to provide their services for 100 days during COVID crisis on Government’s request. Now, by not giving prior time to prepare for the examinations the Government is harassing the aspirants who are already mentally and physically exhausted with their work during COVID. NSUI has been raising all the issues related to the students and examinations since the pandemic started tightening its grip over the country and constantly requested the Government to take the required actions for the safeguard of all the students. The Government didn’t listen to us and now, rather than providing appropriate environment to prepare for their exams, a mental pressure has been created by suddenly declaring the exam date. These doctors and medical students were there when the country needed them and now Modi Government is turning their back to them when they desperately need the Government’s support. It is the question of their future and they have certainly earned the right to get appropriate time to prepare for the exams,” Kundan regretted.
