RAMBAN, June 3: Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Masarat Islam , today said that the effective control, containment measures have shown visible improvement in COVID situation in the district.
Briefing media persons here, the DC gave full credit to frontline health workers, Police and enforcement agencies for steep decline in positivity rate. He said enforcement of corona restrictions greatly helped in breaking the transmission chain and dip in positive cases in the district in the last few days.
He informed that the District Administration has established rural COVID Isolation Centres in all Panchayats at locations accessible by road. This facility, he said, has been created especially for the Covid positive patients in rural areas who lack a separate room and toilet facility in their home, the DC added.
The COVID Isolation Centres are also connected with telemedicine and equipped with basic facilities including oxygen concentrators and COVID medicine kits, besides RAT testing facility, he added.
The DC informed that at an average 1000 RTPCR and RAT Covid test samples are being collected by the health workers on a daily basis in the district. He said the Health Department has also started aggressive testing in rural areas to implement track, trace and treat policy.
He informed that enforcement agencies have recovered over Rs. 10 lakh fine for violation of SOPS since March 1. The DC also urged the voluntary organizations and public representatives besides other dignitaries to motivate highly resistant age appropriate people to take Covid vaccination.
