Population explosion

Mohd Imran Khan
The world population is expected to  surpass seven billion. That is more than double the number of people living on earth just 50 years age. Today 11th of July, is world population day a yearly event created by the United Nation to highlight the importance of population trends. Everyday millions  people go hungry million and   people don’t have access to clean water.
The world population is the total number of living humans on the planet earth. According to a separate estimate by the United Nation it has exceeded 7 billion. The world population is unevenly distributed, with six of the World’s seven continents being permanently inhabited on a large scale. Asia is the most populated continent with it’s a four billion inhabitants accounting for over 60 percent of the world population. The world’s  most populated countries China and India constitute about 37 percent of the world’s population. North America has a population of around 352 million five percent and Oceania the least, populated region. Antarctica has a small fluctuating international population based mainly in polar science station.

World Population Day

The urban share of global population increased from 29 percent in 1950 to 51 percent in 2011. Asia and Africa are the least urbanized regions of the world and North America and Europe are the most urbanized. Population density also varies considerably across regions and it has increased greatly over time. Asia is the densest region in world and North America and Oceania are much less densely populated. The most densely populated counties of the world are Monacco, Singapore and Bahrain, whereas the least dense countries are Mongolia, Namibia and Australia. The census of India 2011 which started on first of April in 2010 is a historical landmark in Indian history. This will be largest census in Indian history till date ever done by any government of the world. Indian census is the single largest source of a variety of statistical information on different characteristics of the people of India. It is most credible source of information on demography, economic activity, literacy and education, housing, urbanization, fertility and mortality languages, religion migration and many other socio-cultural and demographic data.
I think over population leads to a number of not only national but also individuals family problems. It has resulted  in many serious problems such as food supply, spacing, unemployment, education human health, etc. Over population leads to increased use of automobiles which causes increasing air water, soil, noise pollution and eco-degradation. It causes increase in urban slums as well as deforestation rapid human population growth is causing increase pressure on the infrastructure economy and environment. I think population explosion can be  reduced by educating the people  particularly those in reproductive age groups. In this mass media radio, television, newspapers and educational institution can play important role to aware the people.
Literacy rates should be increased in states having low literacy rates like Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan having high population growth rates. In our country the growth rate of population is significantly high. The explosion of population in India during the last fifty years has put enormous pressure on the available resources. The situation of unemployment both educated and uneducated, skilled and unskilled  people try to  migrate to other countries in search of jobs and employment. The  pressure of population on the resources  is creating many environmental and ecological problems. The crime rate is going up, and good educational institutions, hospitals and transport systems are over crowded. The basic amenities like drinking water, electricity and roads are inadequate. Consequently life is full of tension and not enjoyable for most of the people of the country.
