Felicitation of IAS Toppers

Sir,
The fact that a physically challanged girl from Delhi named Ira Singhal has topped the most coveted UPSC Civil Services Exam this year speaks volume about the fact that with strong willpower and perseverance coupled with clear mind and lofty aim, nothing is impossible in this world and one can undoubtedly climb the pinnacle of success sooner or later. The girls have scripted history by bagging four out of top five  merit positions in the most prestigious examination in the country and thus, proved that they  in no way lag behind the boys and given the opportunity, they can prove their ability and mettle and even outshine the boys as they often do in the academic exams conducted by the Central and State Boards of School Education and Universities.Eleven youth from J& K have also qualified the Civil Services Exam and brought laurels to the state. They too need to be felicitated for their hardwork and spectacular performance by awarding them certificates of merit on the same lines on which such certificates were handed over to the top twenty all All India Toppers of IAS/Civil Services2014 Exam.In the same manner,it should be made a practice to felicitate the toppers of academic and professional examinations to boost their morale and serve as an inspiration for the others.
There is no dearth of talent and ability in our state. What is needed is to provide guidance and opportunity to the talented youth especially those belonging to economically weaker families or residing in the farflung areas to display their talent and potential. For this purpose, the services of retired bureaucrats, university professors and other intelligentia can be roped in to provide specialized coaching and guidance to the civil services aspirants and other candidates at affordable fee so that they can manage to crack such exams.Counselling cells need to be set up at the zonal and district level to provide counselling and guidance to the students while they are in the schools to channelise their energy and talent at an early stage and provide them opportunity to choose the field of their aptitude and work hard to achieve success in the chosen field.
Yours etc….
