DODA, Apr 23: Police here today destroyed poppy cultivation and booked two persons in this regard.
On specific information about poppy cultivation by Qutub Din, son of Abdul Subhan and Zakir Hussain, son of Asadullah, both residents of Rangola, Tehsil Phagsoo in their fields in Phagsoo area of Thathri, cops from Police Station Thathri led by Inspector Suresh Kumar, SHO Thathri along with Executive Magistrate Class 1st and other revenue officials visited the spot and seized all poppy plants and destroyed them.
Upon this a case in FIR number 24/2024 under relevant provisions of NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Thathri and investigation started.
Doda Police has launched special drives against drug peddlers, bovine smugglers and poppy cultivators and has booked a number of drug peddlers in this regard to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society.
