Police uses force to clear road for Itoo

Srinagar,  Dec 21:  Police today fired tear-smoke shells to disperse protesters and clear road for the Social Welfare Minister Sakina Itoo in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
A group of villagers today blocked the road near Bogund in district Kulgam against non-availability of electricity and were demanding installation of power transformer in the area.
The protesters alleged that for past one month scores of hamlets of Kulgam area are reeling under darkness as transformers are out of order.
The protesters stopped the cavalcade of Ms  Itoo. Police swung into action and dispersed the protestors by firing tear smoke shells. One person, Hilal Ahmed Ganaie, was injured in police action.
