JAMMU, Dec 21: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today batted for Ayurvedic medicines saying his cholesterol level has returned to normal after taking ‘Shut Guglu’, an Ayurvedic medicine.
Speaking at ‘Arogya Mela’ at Parade Ground this afternoon, Omar said one of his friends advised him to go for Ayurvedic medicine after his cholesterol level rose and he was opting for allopathic drugs.
“I’m thankful to my friend that after taking the Ayurvedic medicine (Shut Guglu), my cholesterol level is back to normal. My problem is over,’’ he said.
He regretted that in Jammu and Kashmir, people still consider allopathic practitioners as doctors but in other States, the Ayurvedic doctors have a lot of say.
Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Ghulam Nabi Azad said recently he went through a question in Parliament on medicines required for old age. He said these medicines included those meant for memory loss, remaining young and another one which ‘I can’t name here’’.
Omar said his hairs have also started turning white and he would have to ask for medicines from Mr Azad for remaining young.
