JAMMU, Nov 16: Police would take Vinod Gupta alias Acharya Bhola Nand of Malad, Mumbai to Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) Chandigarh for voice sample to match it with his voice recorded by Vikrant Sharma alias Vicky in mobile telephone.
Nand, who has been arrested for conspiring to plant skeletons in the ‘Ashram’ of Asaram at Bhagwati Nagar, was today remanded to police custody for seven days by the Special Mobile Magistrate (Passenger Tax) V S Manhas.
The court also directed police to take voice sample of Nand to match it with the voice recorded in the mobile telephone.
Accordingly, police said, Nand would be taken to FSL Chandigarh on Monday for taking voice sample and matching it with telephone recording.
Vicky had recorded the call of Nand in his mobile telephone in which the latter had asked him to bury skeletons in Bhagwati Nagar Ashram of Asaram to confirm his statement given to an electronic channel that three children had been murdered and buried there.
Nand was arrested by Nowabad police on Thursday when he was approaching a hotel at Gumat to apply for bail in the court as a case of conspiracy had been registered against him on the complaint of Vicky.
Police said during questioning, Nand has denied that any children had been killed or buried in the Ashram and that he had given the statement under pressure of some persons.
