Police solves theft cases, recovers stolen property

Srinagar, July 23: Police today solved various theft cases by arresting thieves along with stolen property and cash.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Srinagar, Dr Haseeb Mughal told a press conferred that the Police Station Rajbagh, while acting on a complaint received from Sajad Ahmad Jan son of Farooq Ahmad Jan of Kursoo Rajbagh and Wajahat Amin Bhat son of Mohammad Amin Bhat resident of Batpora Sopore stating that their Motor Cycle (JKOIR-7107) and Scooty (JK05E-4363) respectively were stolen by some unknown persons from Jawahar Nagar and LD Hospital.

“In this connection case FIR No. 21/2019 U/S 379 RPC and 66/2019 U/S 379 RPC were registered in Police Station Rajbagh and investigation set into motion,” the SSP said.
During the course of the investigation, the spokesperson said that one suspect namely Kiyaas Ahmad War son of Fayaz Ahmad War of Baki Aaker Handwara was apprehended for questioning, who later confessed his involvement in both the incidents. The Motorcycle and Scooty were handed over to its owners as per the court directions, he said.
Further, on 19.07.2019, Mughal said, a complaint was lodged by one Nazrul Islam son of Late Abdul Ahad of Kangan Ganderbal to the effect that he has purchased one BMW vehicle bearing registration No.DL1CM-6235 from Shahid Ahmad and Sahil residents of Kolkotta and paid Rs.2.50 lacs to the owner of the vehicle. However, they cheated him and stolen the same vehicle from his possession and managed to escape from Rajbagh area.
On this, the police has registered a case: FIR No:75/2019 U/S 379,420 RPC in Police Station Rajbagh. “During the course of the investigation, both the accused persons were arrested and stolen vehicle recovered from their possession,” the SSP said.
In another case, on specific information, Police Station Rajbagh apprehended one Mohammad Iqbal Dar son of Abdul Salam Dar of Bogund Kulgam and recovered demonetized currency notes amounting to Rs.3.00 lacs from his possession.
“During questioning, he disclosed that he has dumped more money in a hideout in Jawahar Nagar area. Police Party from Rajbagh raided the house of Ghulam Ahmad S/o Abdul Ahad at Jawahar Nagar and recovered Rs. 22 Lacs more (demonetized currency) making in total Rs.25 Lakh. Further investigation into the matter is going on,” the SSP said.
