Police solves army soldier’s mysterious murder case

SAMBA, Mar 11: Samba, police has solved mysterious death case of Army soldier, converted inquest proceedings U/S 174 CrPC into murder case U/S 302 IPC.
The police also arrested the accused and seized weapon of offence AK-47 rifle.
The action was taken by the police on the directives of SSP, Samba Benam Tosh.
Police said on May 20 last year inquest U/S 174 CrPC was initiated by Police Station Samba vide DDR No. 32 to ascertain the actual cause of death of 21 year old Army Sepoy Pawar Prathamesh of Maharashtra whose bullet-ridden dead body was found in a pool of blood inside the barrack. The inquest proceedings were conducted in highly professional manner taking into consideration all aspects & evidence and closed on merits with the registration of FIR No. 48/2023 U/S 302 IPC at Police Station Samba.
The arrested person in the murder case has been identified as Vaidya Khushreang, son of Vikas Gyaniram Vaidya of Maharashtra.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Samba Benam Tosh said that inquest under Section 174 of Code of Criminal Procedure, which was initiated by police to ascertain the actual cause of death of the Army Jawan, has been converted into murder case under Section 302 of Indian Penal Code. The accused has been arrested, weapon of offence has also been seized by the police and further investigation of the case is going on.
