Police rescues 4 bovines, arrests 2

KATHUA, June 19: Kathua police today foiled bovine smuggling attempt near Hatli Morh and rescued four animals besides arresting two persons involved in the smuggling and seized the vehicle involved.
Police said a team led by Inspector, Yash Pal Sharma incharge Police Post, Hatli under the supervision of DySP Headquarters, Kathua, Shammi Kumar and on the directives of SSP Kathua RC Kotwal during routine naka checking duty at Hatli Morh noticed one suspicious Mahindra vehicle bearing Registration Number, PB08BZ-9096 being driven by a person namely Talib Hussain, son of Alam Din who was accompanied by his accomplice Mohammad Hanif, son of Abdullah both residents of Rakh Sarkar, Hiranagar.
They were signaled to stop for checking. During checking of the vehicle, four bovines were found loaded in it. The vehicle was seized, two persons were arrested and four bovines were rescued.
A case FIR No 298/2021 U/S 188/IPC, 11PCA Act has been registered at Police Station, Kathua and further investigation has been set into motion accordingly.
