SAMBA, June 20: Non-Gazetted Police pensioners held protest at Vijaypur demanding removal of pay anomalies and adopt other welfare measures for their wards and ailing retired cops.
The retired policemen under the banner of Non-Gazetted Police Pensioners Welfare Forum, led by its chairman Ajit Singh assembled at Block headquarters Vijaypur in the morning and started protest demonstration. They were carrying banner with demands and also shouting slogans their issues.
They alleged that despite several representations and even holding protests, the Government has failed to remove anomalies in their pay grades. Referring to Govt order No. 229-F of 2014 dated 17-10-2014 regarding pay anomalies, Ajit Singh said that the effect is being given prospectively which means from the date of order, whereas, the effect should have been given from the year 1996 when 5th Pay Commission was implemented through out the state but only Police department was left out. Some of them have expired during struggle.
Several pay anomaly committees were also framed and they gave their opinion but it was never implemented. The file of the 2nd committee is untraceable in the secretariat. The retired cops demanded cashless health insurance, adequate benefits/ job quota for their wards and other financial support in case of serious illness and marriage of their children.
