Jammu, June 11: In the context of upcoming Amarnath Ji Yatra, Police Sub Division West held a meeting with the Hotel Association where the hotels falling within the busy and heavily frequented Jewel Chowk and the adjoining areas participated and had a detailed interaction with SDPO West Jammu Pranav Mahajan and SHO Nowabad Neeraj Bhagat.
Mahajan emphasised the importance of maintaining complete and proper record of the Reception Register wherein all the entries should be filled in complete detail. They were also asked to maintain a separate register for the people who are using the net facility of their hotel.
He emphasised that a complete detailed record of all the staff members should be maintained and shared with the concerned police station. Also if any new staff joins or an old one leaves, it should be informed to the police station,” he added.
Pranav said that not only the CCTVs need to be installed but that they should be of good quality and strategically placed for which the police will render all the possible help. Their records should be kept with the hoteliers. He also impressed upon the requirement of taking the ID proofs of not only one person but of all the members of a particular group.
He told the hoteliers that under no circumstances any person with a weapon should be allowed to stay in their premises. “If they find any such person it should be immediately brought to the noticeof the Police Station”. He also discussed the various security related concerns and sought active cooperation and support of the hoteliers.
Mahajan stated that as per the directions of SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta, IPS regular hotel checking and market checking under the supervision of SP City North Vinay Kumar is being done regularly. The meeting was attended by the representatives of various hotels. In their statements, they assured that they will extend all the help to the police for the smooth conduct of the Yatra.
