Police foil PDP march to Raj Bhawan

JAMMU, Dec 29: J&K Police here today foiled an attempt by youth activists of PDP to march towards Raj Bhawan in protest against the alleged sale of J&K resources to corporate houses.

PDP youth activists assembled at Gandhi Nagar and marched towards the Raj Bhawan to lodge protest against recent move by the administration to allot a huge chunk of land to real estate companies from outside J&K but the strong contingent of police stopped them from marching towards the main road.
Raising slogans against the ruling BJP and LG Administration, PDP youth activists alleged that the Union Government under the garb of bringing investment is selling resources of J&K to corporate houses.
They said that on one hand BJP Government had assured to secure the culture, identity and jobs of the people of Ladakh region while on the other hand J&K is being thrown open for non-locals endangering the unique culture and ethnical identity of the UT.
The protesters said that today biggest problem of J&K is unemployment.
