Police counsel youth involved in stone-throwing

SRINAGAR, July 19: A group of youth who were involved in stone-pelting incidents were counseled and then handed over to respectables in southern Shopian district.
A police spokesman said that team of officers from police, army’s 3 Rashtriya Rifles and CRPF’s 14 battalion conducted the counselling of a group of youth from Reban and Zainpora villages who were involved in stone pelting incidents.
“The officers also interacted with the respectables of the locality who assured them of peaceful and cooperative environment in the area. It was reiterated by respectables that they would not allow misuse of loudspeakers in mosques by miscreants for playing taranas and anti-national propaganda,” the spokesman said.
The officers assured the gathering that forces will continue to work for peace and tranquility in the district, the spokesman added.
