Police arrests notorious bovine smuggler, rescues 23 animals

SAMBA, Nov 28: Continuing stringent legal action against bovine smugglers , Samba police has foiled two bovine smuggling attempts in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS), Bari Brahmana and PS Ghagwal, arrested notorious bovine smuggler, rescued 23 bovine animals and seized two vehicles.
The arrested notorious bovine smuggler has been identified as Mureed Ali, son of Mohammad Yousaf of Gole Gujral Camp tehsil and district Jammu.
A case FIR No.271/2023 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act and FIR No.110 /2023 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act have been registered at Police Station (PS) Bari Brahmana and Police Station (PS) Ghagwal respectively and investigation is underway.
The bovine smuggling attempts have been foiled by police teams comprising of SHO Police Station, Bari Brahmana, Sumit Sharma, SHO Police Station, Ghagwal, Sham Lal and in charge Police Post, Rajpura SI Hardev Singh under the supervision of SDPO Bari Brahmana Rahul Nagar, DySP Hqrs, Samba, Bhishm Dubey and Additional SP Samba, Surinder Choudhary.
On the directions of Senior Superintendent of Police Samba, Benam Tosh, a total of 96 bovine smugglers have been arrested by Samba Police in past ten months after the launch of special drive, 79 FIRs have been registered against bovine smugglers, 68 vehicles used for bovine smuggling have been seized and 778 bovine animals have been rescued in Samba district.
