PM likely to inaugurate Int’l Yoga Day from MIMC campus

LEH, Apr 25: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to inaugurate International Yoga Day celebration from Mahabodhi campus on June 21.
This was stated by Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre (MIMC) founder president, Bikkhu Sanghasena, while mentioning about upcoming MIMC events this summer.
Addressing a press conference today at Devachan Campus, Sanghasena flanked by MIMC vice president, Padmashree Morup Namgyal and Ex-MLA, Tsering Samphel, said that the event will be organized by MIMC in collaboration with Union Ministry of Ayush.
Sanghasena said that if PM finalized his programme to inaugurate the Yoga Day from Himalayan region of Ladakh, it will certainly convey a good message at International level to promote tourism in Ladakh. Besides, it will also uplift the morale of soldiers serving in the forwards areas of Ladakh getting chances to perform Yoga with PM.
Mentioning about other upcoming events this summer, Sanghasena informs that MIMC in collaboration with the Buddhist devotees of Taiwan would be organizing International Sanghadana at the Devachan campus in Leh in September where more than 2000 venerable monks and nuns from all over Ladakh would be invited to the occasion.
“Considering the physical and psychological difficulty faced by the terminal ill-aged inmates of the old aged home, Bhikkhu Sanghasena will set up Hospice which will be one of its kind in the entire Ladakh to improve their living conditions and upgrade the infrastructure to make it more convenient for their dignified living standard of MIMC old age resident”, he added.
