PM appealed to extend Rs 10 lakh for next of kin of deceased

JAMMU, Sept 20: Mahant Manjit Singh Ji of Shiromani Dera Nangali Sahib, Poonch, has appealed the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, to extend Rs 10 lakh for the next of kin of those who lost their lives in the recent rains and floods while Rs 2 lakh to the injured persons.
The demand was raised by Mahant Sahib during a meeting of the Sikh Organisation, J&K, held at Sri Sant Mela Singh Ji Technical Ashram, Digiana, which was chaired by him.
Paying condolence to those who became victim of recent floods and landslides as a result of torrential rains, Mahant Sahib appealed the PM to extend the help to flood victims on the pattern of Gujarat Prabandhak Committee, J&K and other societies.
Mahant Sahib thanked all those religious minded people who came forward to help out the flood affected people by extending timely assistance in the form of ration, water bottles, tents, sheets, utensils, as well as cash.
He himself also distributed the same amongst the needed people of flood affected areas of Jammu as well as Kashmir Province.
Mahant also visited Nowshera, where a Bus full of Baratis was washed away claiming the lives of about 66 people. There, he made Akhand Path and Bhog for the peace of souls for their Anthim Ardas.
