Plus-2 Lecturers’ Forum submits demands to Education Minister

JAMMU, Nov 16:  A delegation of All J&K Plus-2 Lecturers’ Forum,  led by its working president Deepak Sharma,  called on  Minister for Education, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari and submitted him a memorandum of demands.
The  Forum sought personal intervention of  the  Minister in grant of benefit of Running Grade Pattern (Time Bound Promotion) in favour of Plus-2 Lecturers,  absence of which has caused worst type of stagnation and Lecturers have to wait for more than 20 years for further elevation as Principals.
Forum also demanded placement of Lecturers in Pay Band-III instead of Pay Band-II as per S L  Bhat Committee recommendations before implementation of 7th Pay Commission.
The delegation also demanded regularization of all Incharge Officers including Joint Directors, CEOs and equivalents and I/C Lecturers without further delay. They also pressed upon repatriation of Joint Directors appointed from KAS cadre to their parent cadre and demanded posting of officers drawn from Education Deptt  on these posts.
The Forum also reiterated its  demand of restoration of non-vacational status to Principals and also sought enhancement in their grade pay.
The other demands,  which made part of memorandum,  were revival of 40 percent college quota, immediate release of promotion lists of Principals, Sr  Lecturers and Lecturers to fill the vacancies on fast track basis for better functioning of schools. They also demanded removal of pay anomalies and regularization of Physical Education Lecturers.
The Minister forwarded the memorandum to Secretary School Education for further perusal and necessary action.
