JAMMU, Mar 12: Panun Kashmir (PK) convener Dr. Agnishekhar expressed his concern over the worst situation in Kashmir Valley that has surfaced after the Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru was executed last month in Tihar Jail.
Speaking at a function here, today in which 25 area coordinators of PK were administered oath of office, he said the continued widespread, shutdowns, stone-pelting and the competitive politics of exploiting the situation by both separatists and the mainstream politicians belonging to National Conference and PDP in and outside the Assembly should open the eyes of the nation.
Dr. Agnishekhar urged the State Government to provide adequate protection to residual Kashmiri Pundits living in the Kashmir.
He also expressed grave concern over an agency photograph naming Hari Parvat as Kohi-i-Maran published in a section of press.
Reacting strongly to Government of India’s lenient view towards the pampered separatists Yaseen Malik and JKLF who recently shook the conscience of this nation when he was joined by the 26/11 Mumbai attack convict terrorist Hafiz Sayeed in Islamabad during his dharna against the execution of Afzal Guru, he said the policy of Central Government not to deal such elements with heavy hand expeditiously has more often than not resulted in re-enforcement of the sense of taking this nation for-granted among the separatists.
Amongst other senior activists who later participated in the panel discussion on the topic issues confronting KPs included, Dr. M K Raina, Sanjay Dattatreya, OM Ji Bhatt, Upmanyu Sharma, Ashutosh and Umesh ji.
National coordinator Sanjay Dattatreya informed that second batch of 25 coordinators would be announced soon. The function was compared by Raja Ji Tickoo the newly appointed organizational secretary of Panun Kashmir.
